Halpert had 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 7 steals. Goldberg had 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Jonah Blechner had 5 points and 6 rebounds. RecapJEC @ Frisch 11/9/2023 The JEC Thunder went on the road to take on the Rubinstein tournament champs in an early season matchup. The Thunder came into this matchup hungry and took it to the Cougars from the jump. The Thunder raced out to an early 12-6 lead before a timeout from Frisch. Some early substitutes sparked Frisch and were able to help them get back in the game and take an 8 point lead into the locker room. The Cougars came out of the locker room trying to put the game out of reach and they were able to extend their lead to 19 points midway through the fourth quarter thanks to some stellar play by Jon Milgrom,two 3- pointers by Avi Winslow, and the float game of Jacob Gervis. Jec fought hard to get back into the game and before you knew it there was one minute left and Frisch was only leading by 2. Jon Milgrom closed out the game with a bunch of clutch free throws adding to his game and season high of 21 points helping Frisch win 69-64. Jec was led by Michael Schnur and Izzy Kay with 20 points each. The Cougars improve to 2-0 on the season and move on to their blockbuster matchup and rematch of the Rubinstein Championship on Saturday night @ SAR |
